Kilgore Books & Comics is a used book store in the Capitol Hill neighborhood of Denver, Colorado, nestled between Wax Trax Records CD and vinyl shops at 624 E. 13th Ave, between Washington and Pearl streets.
The shop was opened on June 1, 2008 by Luke Janes and Dan Stafford, and specializes in used books and independent comics.
KBC offers an extensive collection of vintage underground comics from the 1960s, some of which will be featured in an upcoming show at the Denver Art Museum, "The Psychedelic Experience: Rock Posters from the San Francisco Bay Area, 1965-1971"[1], running March 21, 2009 – July 19, 2009.
The shop is also known for supporting local cartoonists and authors, hosting release parties for John Porcellino, Noah Van Sciver, Xeric Foundation grant winner Felix Tannenbaum, and Brian Polk.
